Biography
My name is Billy MacLeod and I am a Candidate for Dallas City Council in District 2. This district is the most diverse in Dallas and it requires a leader with a diverse skill set. District 2 includes much of Oak Lawn, Deep Ellum, The Cedars, The Medical District, The Fashion District, Grauwyler Park, Old East Dallas, and portions of Downtown & South Dallas.
I have honorably served in the United States Navy, I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, and I have served as adviser to many small businesses and individual people in need throughout Dallas. I have fought for Dallas residents on a whole range of issues such as: urban renewal, economic development, and public safety.
I ran for public office in 2003, 2006, and most recently in May of 2009, where I received 21% of the vote in District 2. We are getting close to our goal.
I am not what you would call a traditional political candidate. I speak the truth, I speak it loudly, and I do so with the voice of the ordinary Dallas resident. I love being a voice of the regular people. I enjoy fighting for practical governance. And I will be a champion for building a sustainable green economy in District 2. Plain and simple: I ask for your support and your input as we take this journey together. Dallas City Council here we come.
